Therapeutic Equestrian Center’s Fundraising Successes
Annual Horse Show
On the Saturday, October 31, 2015, TEC will once again present our annual horse show.
We will be presenting classes that showcase and demonstrate the rider’s abilities and skills. Our classes are designed so that each rider can exhibit their individual riding accomplishments. Riders will be asked to, individually and as a group, execute a series of obstacles and patterns; weave cones, broken line, ground rails, halt, and change direction, etc. Also, some of the riders will demonstrate their ability to place colored rings on the corresponding color pole and to shoot a basketball all while mounted. Most of the excises will be performed at the walk, but some of our riders will demonstrate their ability to ride at the trot.
Riders will be judged on their riding position (equitation), ability to control their horse during the different exercises and the ability to carry out the judges instructions. Each class will be approximately one half hour long.
A buffet lunch will be provided by TEC in the Pastoral House during the show.
Last year we raised close to 5% of our annual operating budget through Program Ad sales!
On the Sunday, May 3rd, the Holyoke Mall at Ingleside and The Future Begins Here hosted a gala benefit for local children’s agencies. The mall is a unique setting to enjoy fine dining showcased from some of the area’s most creative restaurants while bidding on donations from many of our merchants and local benefactors. This year’s event featured Dave Madsen, the voice of the Pioneer Valley and Channel 40’s anchorman, as emcee, together with George Lewis in a repeat performance as auctioneer. Music was provided by Eric Bascom and Blue. Participating agencies included:
- The Therapeutic Equestrian Center
- Holyoke Rows

We held our first ever Tack Sale & Open House on Saturday, Jun 13, 2015. There was a great turnout and we sold quite a bit of surplus donated horse equipment. Our riders gave wonderful demonstrations which allowed newcomers to see the amazing service we offer. We plan on making this an annual event and have tentatively scheduled next year’s for early June 2016.
This year we raised $230.CLICK HERE to learn more about the Sale & Open House!
