Recognizing the need for a more stable funding source for the Center, local businesman George Loughman began an annual golf tournament as a benefit to TEC in 1989. the annual tournaments provided TEC with $10,000 per year in critically-needed operaing capital.
Several years later, the accumulated funds were placed in a Trust to create an Endowment Fund with its own Board of Trustees and a specific fundraising mandate. Its mission is to support TEC’s work with special needs children, and is mandahttp://equestriantherapy.org/wp-admin/post.php?post=895&action=editted to provide its annual return on investment to TEC’s operating account once the Fund reaches $150,000 or more in principal. The fund may also, at the discretion of the Trustees, transfer more than its annual income to the TEC operating budget should TEC have an urgent need of funding to continue operations.
Started with monies raised through these charitable golf tournaments, the fund has continued to grow through additional donations and prudent investment of principal. Today the fund stands at approximately $108,000, over 2/3 of the way to our goal!
